EMBRACE Iowa – Water Assistance

The Des Moines Register and Iowa Community Action Association have partnered to give one-time grants for things that fall outside of standard assistance programs here in Iowa. For many Iowans these funds will assist removing a barrier preventing them from improving their life. Eligible households can receive up to $750 towards emergency water assistance only in IMPACT’s 5-county area (Boone, Jasper, Marion, Polk or Warren counties).

To be eligible for the EMBRACE program you must be a resident in one of our service counties with a household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Funding availability varies. 

To set up an appointment to apply, households may call IMPACT’s phone line, 515-518-4770. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 28, 2023.​

• Proof of the last 30 days of income or previous year’s income

• Invoice or estimated of cost of items
