Personal Hygiene Pantry

What is the Program?

This program is designed to provide hygiene and household cleaning items, such as shampoo, soap, feminine hygiene products, detergent and more. Item availability varies. Personal hygiene packages can be picked up at our Ankeny, Boone and Drake Neighborhood locations or delivered with a monthly food order while supplies last.

Those in need of the Personal Pantry items must call 515-518-4770 prior to visiting an office in person.

Am I eligible?

All families in need of hygiene supplies are able to pick up a pre-packaged bag at our Ankeny, Boone and Drake Neighborhood centers. You may also get it delivered with a monthly food order while supplies last.  Families will need to call 515-518-4770 to place an order.  Households must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Households may access this service once every month. The availability of items will vary.

What documentation is required?

None.

How do I get my personal hygiene package?

Most families will shop for these items in the pantry location closest to them:

  • Pick-Up: Families can choose their items at the Ankeny, Boone or the Drake Neighborhood food pantries.

  • Delivery: Families living in Polk County can also choose to have their items delivered to their home. For a food and personal item order call 515-518-4770 for delivery. During the phone intake, families can select a delivery time that works best for them up to a week in advance.
