Personal Hygiene Pantry
What is the Program?
This program is designed to provide hygiene and household cleaning items, such as shampoo, soap, feminine hygiene products, detergent and more. Item availability varies. Personal hygiene packages can be picked up at our Ankeny, Boone and Drake locations or delivered (Polk County only).
Alternatively, families may opt to receive a Dollar Tree gift card for the purchase of personal hygiene and household cleaning items. Gift cards are distributed with a monthly food pantry order or mailed out.
Those in need of the Personal Pantry items must call 515-518-4770 prior to visiting an office in person.
Am I eligible?
All families in need of hygiene supplies are able to pick up a pre-packaged box at our Ankeny, Boone and Drake Resource Centers. Polk County residences can also choose to have their package delivered. Families will need to call 515-518-4770 to place an order. Households must be at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Level. Households may access this service once every three months. The availability of items will vary.
What documentation is required?
Proof of the last 30 days of income or the previous year’s income must be provided once a year.
How do I get my personal hygiene package?
Families will have two options for collecting their personal pantry order:
-
Pick-Up: Families can collect their Personal Packages at the Ankeny, Boone and Drake Neighborhood food pantries.
-
Delivery: Families living in Polk County can also choose to have their personal pantry package delivered to their home. Personal pantry packages will be delivered at least one day after the completion of the intake process with our staff.
