Thrive is a basic needs assistance program funded by several churches in Polk County for residents of Polk County that do not live in Des Moines. The Thrive Program can provide $20 gas cards or $200 per year for housing or other necessities (glasses, water bills, sewer bills, etc.). The gas cards can be provided once per calendar month and all other assistance can be provided up to $200 per household per fiscal year (October-September)
Am I Eligible?
To receive Thrive funding, families must be residents of Polk County that do not live in Des Moines and have a household income at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Level. Families can apply for the Thrive Program at the Drake, Army Post, and Ankeny Resource Centers. FUNDING AVAILABILITY VARIES.
What Documentation Is Required?
-Identification for all household members
-Proof of the last 30 days of income or previous year's income
-Invoice or estimated cost of assistance requested
