Thank you Sklyar Rainey, AmeriCorps volunteer at IMPACT!

Updated: Jun 2, 2022

Skylar Rainey, one of IMPACT's amazing AmeriCorps Volunteers

Meet Sylar Rainey, one of our many volunteers through AmeriCorps.

Skylar Rainey is special. Originally from Webster City, Iowa, Skylar graduated from UNI in December of 2019 with a Bachelors in Anthropology and minor in Social Welfare. Following graduation, Skylar applied to the Americorps program.

Skylar was accepted.

Skyler chose to serve her AmeriCorps assignment at IMPACT Community Action Partnership because: “I wanted to volunteer for an organization that serves my local community. IMPACT's mission aligns perfectly with my passion for helping others during times of need.”

It’s not easy to be an AmeriCorps volunteer. The position requires a rigorous application process and a passion to serve and strengthen the community. Skylar is one of more than 1.2 million Americans who have served their country through AmeriCorps. And, one of eight Americorps volunteers serving IMPACT families.

During AmeriCorps week, IMPACT gives thanks to Skylar, all our AmeriCorps volunteers, and the awesome organization of AmeriCorps! These amazing individuals have been crucial in IMPACT’s mission to reducing the barriers and burdens that families in poverty experience by increasing access to essential needs.

Happy AmeriCorps Week! (March 13 - 19)
